Affirmations
Affirmations-per se are not really a part of most eastern religions. For the most part eastern religions have to do with self purification, self realization and such, involving such things as meditation and denial of many material pursuits, as though God was a being that wouldn't intend that all His creation experience abundance.
Once introduced into the western world, positive thinking principles and psychological principles have been added to some religions.
As a result many eastern religion disciples now espouse affirmations, self actualization and so on.
Many others also utilize affirmations in order to acquire what they think they should possess. There are some cautions here against worrying about stuff -James 4:3; John 17:3; Luke 12:25,26 "And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought.(original is 'anxious thought or worry').for the rest?".God says when you are His, He'll take good care of you and yours, so don't be so worried over all the daily things that are necessary for sustenance.-Luke 12:23-31. Put your effort into that which will produce a super abundant life. In this way you make your request to God, and it will be looked after by the laws which He put in motion to bring all good into your life.
Use your mind to become more deeply convinced, thus increasing belief of Him who does have the power already set up as laws of the universe to cause change. This power is available to you!
This belief is from a mix causing confusion, confusion.(and can be one of the devil's tricks).so you never discover the secret.
Many 'New Age' books teach these things and other concepts based on parts of the Bible. New Age has many ways to correct one's life, and much good advice, however it deals from the premise that there is something that.you.must correct.(similar to the alternate gospel that Paul often spoke to early New Testament Christians about), whereas Christianity reveals from God the Father through His word, the Bible, that because of your belief in His Son Jesus Christ, you are already correct.(holy, righteous and perfect). Just become aware of that and live your life in a way which brings all good to you
The reasoning goes; that since you are Gods, then you create your own life, but you have to program your heart to accept what it is that you say, by saying it over and over and over to yourself. This convinces you, so you want to be sure that what you're convinced about is of God and not a mix of confusion. And this does work, for you can't have what you don't possess -Luke 19:26. Advertisers know this. They know you must first have it in your mind before any action can occur to bring their product into your life. They don't spend billions on a hope it will work. They know it works.
In order for all this to be effective for your use, you must add feeling to what it is that you are repeating, what you are imagining, for the process to be personally effective -Matthew 6:27-33.
But how does one add feeling to that which he may have no feeling about, yet knows it to be something good in his life that he wants?
Build your own belief to the point of acceptance, and then the universal laws will 'align', providing for you exactly what the affirmations you used were all about, what the images of the state you want were all about. Sounds very credible all this "your consciousness builds your life" stuff. But it is built on the Bible's "you are what you think"  and "you reap what you sow".
So in this we trust not in ourselves, but in the power of God -Proverbs 28:26
If one believes that his consciousness is to blame for what is happening or could happen in life, what will he think when things go bad? Guilt? Confusion? Depression? Hopelessness? Do any of us really have it all together enough to create our own destiny? No. But in God we have power to change life to be what's good for us.

God's wisdom which existed before any man -1Corinthians 2:7
Affirmation people are fine sincere people, desiring better for themselves and their families. They need to know this if they don't already know it.
They need to understand that faith is a gift from God. One doesn't create his own faith -Ephesians 2:8. So, once you have the faith, use it for good, for yourself, your family, and for others' benefit too.

Try it yourself or save yourself the effort and get right to what really works.
To try it yourself: Tell yourself something very easy to believe. Let's see: How about telling yourself over and over for a few days or a week that somehow, out of the blue, a free holiday cruise in the Caribbean.(or where ever you may like to go).will come to you? That ought to do it!
Now be sure to really feeeeeellllll those warm Caribbean breezes a blowin' on your face as you bask on the deck in the hot Caribbean sun. Make it real to yourself. Get pictures of it. Put them up where you can oft be reminded of what it is that you're affirming.
