way the flesh is defiled is when the heart is convinced that the bad things
you are getting in life are what you deserve and expect. For some, life
is a living hell, making a person thus afflicted feel bad.
One has a
hell of a life not knowing (because of wrong
teachings, no faith, no belief in, not thoroughly convinced of, not
believing about yourself, confused about many things, etc.) what God thinks
and says about you, that you are indeed holy,
and perfect -again, 2Corinthians
These things take effort and take thinking
on your part to keep
them alive and effective in you. We, like Noah, should be 'preparing
our ark' so these promises will express in our life -Hebrews
11:7; 10:39; Philippians
is the struggle for dominance
in you. Your whole being will scream that you are worthy of only more bad
in your life due to many 'laws'
that you have previously accepted as your standard, some making you
guilty, but -1John 5:4,5; Revelation
But, realize that it's more important that another believes in you.
Say this very
slowly (why?), very thoughtfully
and watch how, at first, your nature fights it:-"I
now see myself as God does. It's His opinion that matters. Therefore I
am holy. I am righteous. I am perfect. All the blessings of God are now
in my life. Having accepted God's gift of righteousness, the life of Jesus
Christ in me, I am fully deserving of all these things. He is my strength
Psalms 18:1, etc. He
is my protector."
At this point
do we really believe to the saving of the soul-(both
here and hereafter)? -again, Hebrews
If there is
no rest and still a struggle, still a 'push' to make yourself believe it,
we must labour to enter that rest -Hebrews
But how to get
and remain in a positive frame of mind?
working on convincing your heart of that which you agree God believes to
be true for you -James 1:6-8. And
no matter how bad life is now for you, be thankful for it. Why? Because
then you are aligned with God and when you are aligned with God things
you indeed are what God says you now are.
is in you there is no reason to believe otherwise.
Once you enter
this rest, you will have overcome 'your own works' or how you normally
have been mostly thinking of yourself (mostly negative eh?) -Hebrews
He thinks of you) and move permanently from how you have been thinking
of yourself -Hebrews 4:7.
You enter His
rest by believing what God says about you -Hebrews
4:3. Work on it like it was the most important thing you can do – it
is! Hebrews 4:1.
Belief is the state your heart is
in once you are convinced of what God thinks about you -Hebrews
are what they personally and individually are sure about. Belief is being
convicted that what you know is absolutely true.
There are many
things one can decide upon to become different. Without decision, there
is no step towards a different direction.
is 'missing the mark' of what God thinks of you (Romans
5:21) by thinking what you probably normally think of you. And
Through faith and being patient
in your dedication to God, the
promises of God will become real in your life (Hebrews
6:12) and the day star will arise in your heart -2Peter
Christians are Christ's body -1Corinthians
12:27. Christians can be alienated
from God's way, so that they fail to grow in loving concern for both
those in the family of God and others needing help throughout the world
today. Where one's mind is at is critical. (see 'Compassion'
when you can take a few hours)
the way of Christ is hindered from expressing. One must know what compassion
is and decide to be compassionate, before
the Holy Spirit will flow in this regard. Those
who strain to share are promised it back many times and many ways, including
powerful and precious spiritual blessings -Matthew
Ephesians 1:3; Matthew
Christ, for everything we gain, we
give up something. Every front has a back, every up has a down. Bootleg
liquor may kill the consumer, but it heals the bootlegger.
The old 'principle'
– a few gain at the expense of many. Such is not the way of true
Christians, but can be the way of Pharisatical Christians, those hypocrites
who wish to appear 'lily white' and clean but inwardly they are something
eventually becomes the great leveler and even the great subjugator.
One may make money, but many other things in life stay or become 'out of
it and keeping it all together' becomes a constant struggle -Haggai
1:6. Life is a lesson teacher, as we all eventually wake up to realize.
2:29 shows Paul is thinking of one's heart and talking about following
one's conscience. He is saying in verses
11-15, that one should follow what he believes to be the
right things to do, as God always looks on the heart, it being the
basis for all action. The rest of the chapter is talking about hypocrisy.
You'll effectively alienate
yourself from Him by using your mind too much apart from God (1Timothy
1:19) by avoiding time for prayer and study.
It's difficult for you to then receive anything -Mark
6:5,6; again, James 1:6-8.
God is your
friend, with you all the time. Would you
spend all day with someone who was in your house and seldom talk to him?
-Hebrews 3:6. James
2:23 "And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham
believed God, and it was imputed
unto him for righteousness, and he was called the Friend of God." John
6:29 "Jesus answered and said unto them;
this is the work of God, that you believe on Him whom He has sent."
The word 'on'
in this scripture means 'into' or 'rapport'.
It's God's work that produces a belief toward His Son Jesus Christ.-...continues
